Peribonka Lodge is owned and operated by Bucky Adams. He grew up on a beef cattle farm in Ontario spending much of his time hunting, fishing, trapping and cutting wood. He continued his love for the outdoors by pursing a university degree in Animal Science. Shortly after graduating Bucky left a routine job to travel to northern Quebec as a caribou guide. His experience on the tundra with TV shows, hunting magazines and all of the hunters and fishermen led him to expanding into the bear hunting business in central Quebec in 1996. For several years Bucky operated bear hunts at different outfitting camps until finding Peribonka in 2004 and opening one the most successful bear hunting and fishing lodges in eastern Canada. With the decline of the caribou business in recent years and his satisfaction for putting big bears in front of the hunters Bucky now concentrates on improving Peribonka and expanding bear hunts in the Lac St. Jean area with a new camp hosting hunters in 2018.
